About the Book
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas), in Berlin, was designed by American architect Peter Eisenman and completed in 2005. This series of images tries to express thoughts and feelings from the experience of walking in and around the Memorial, and about the history that it represents. Peter Eisenman has said that ‘the whole sculpture aims to represent a supposedly ordered system that has lost touch with human reason’. The photos were taken in different weather and lighting conditions during three visits to the city, between 2011 and 2013.
