About the Book
This book is the result of my continuing fascination with Osprey, and follows on from my first photographic book: “Thriving Ospreys in Chesapeake Bay”. Once you have seen these wonderful birds in the wild, and observed their behaviour and way of life the desire to see them again can become very rewarding and so another photographic trip to Chesapeake Bay was organised. This is usually a very sunny part of the world in the early summer but not this time. On arrival the weather was awful, it had been raining for days and this was to continue for many more. A pair of Osprey was on the nest, but I was never able to tell for certain if it was the usual pair or if another pair had taken over the nest. They mate for life and usually return to the same nest, but maybe not this time because the previous year’s nest had been completely destroyed. They had rebuilt it to some extent but no way was it deep enough to house new chicks and building continued throughout my stay and would continue after I had left. I hope that previewing this book and seeing the photograph’s of this beautiful bird and other photographs of this part of the world will be an interesting and enjoyable experience. Please be aware that the electronic versions of the book require a suitable size screen to be able to read the text and captions clearly and obtain a better previewing experience.
