About the Book
The prints are limited editions of ten, printed on 240 gsm A3 size paper by digital ink-jet. They are also published as books under the series title Utopias. The word Utopia is used in the original 18th century sense of “elsewhere” as opposed to the later meaning of “ideal”. In the 21st Century nature is so changed by human activity that it has became a kind of ‘elsewhere’. The systematic examination of nature by science has revealed successive shells of hidden reality that are uncanny. The pictures are imaginary landscapes made from discarded consumer items or materials made for modeling or decoration.
