About the Creator
Amber Craig has been a professional writer for over 20 years, having her first poem published when she was nine-years-old, in the Poetry Institute of Canada’s annual collection. In high school, she started submitting op-ed pieces to local newspapers where she grew up in Calgary, Alberta and eventually graduated from the Journalism Arts program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 2007. Craig found herself working in media and eventually transitioned into marketing, which is what she spends her full-time work hours doing now. She still writes, mostly for pleasure but occasionally takes on freelance writing gigs. In 2013, she co-founded the Breaking Free Foundation with six other likeminded people, who wanted to help others living with trauma. Today, the Breaking Free Foundation is a registered charity in Canada and Craig is the Board Chair. Her work with the charity has involved co-facilitating group therapeutic conversations and sharing her story as an advocate.
