About the Book
“Living Old Damascus” proposes a sociological and artistic reading of the local residents' daily life in Damascus' historical neighbourhood. The photographic project highlights the multi-cultural heritage shaping today’s local lifestyle. Pictures were crafted in 2019, essentially through street photography.

Switzerland
Swiss citizen but foremost citizen of the world, the author studied international relations and development studies, before joining an international humanitarian organisation. Since then, the author spent two decades living and working in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Self-taught photographer, he took benefit of his extended international exposure to practice photography in his private capacity. Bertrand’ s main body of work explores and valorises the positive potential of intercultural matters to highlight the strength and the beauty of our multicultural world.
