Corey A. Ladd has had a passion for writing since his youth and has frequently written poems for his family at special events. His interest in science fiction and fantasy began on a backpacking trip to Europe, during which he read his first of what would eventually become a long list of books by Isaac Asimov.

Corey started writing these adventures for his daughter, Ariana, on Ariana's 9th birthday. Every birthday thereafter, he would write of another adventure in the world of Aprianta, usually incorporating friends and experiences from his daughter's
previous year. The adventurous and whimsical world of Aprianta is a reflection of Corey's love for his daughter.
