About the Book
2nd Edition-When I began researching James L. Boggs, I was very new at genealogy and soon found that there were many inaccurate accounts of his life that had spread. The most striking was the number and names of children attributed to him in posted family trees. My goal is to preserve and document our family history as factually as possible.
The book shows the movement of James L. Boggs backed with primary sources from what is believed to be the first record of him in Fincastle County, Virginia in 1773 until his death in 1835 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. It includes church minutes from the Big Blaine Baptist Church as well as the Crawford vs Holbrook lawsuit in 1848. Information on his wives and children, DNA, and our Bogue connection.
