About the Book
How do you mentally climb out of a deep dark hole once you've finally resolved it to be your grave? This was the dilemma the author, Cheryl Sheeler, faced when a series of family crises left her feeling profoundly hopeless. Wracked with anxiety and depression, Sheeler embarked on a year-long personal journey to try to save herself through, among other things, the exercise of practicing gratitude. Applying a creative spin to this mindful activity, this artist and hobby writer turned her daily reflections on gratitude and simple joys into haiku poems. "Little Lights in the Dark" is her collection of that poetry. Filled with lively watercolor sketches and relatable moments, Readers are sure to be inspired by Sheeler's journey–and reminded of the joy and optimism that can be found in life's simple things.
