About the Book
In the summer of 1915, 18 year old George Henry Marmion McGrath rode his bicycle from Houtzdale, Pennsylvania to San Francisco, California. Generally following the newly opened Lincoln Highway, George covered approximately 2700 miles in over three months. While on his journey, he sent letters and photographs home to his father, Otey and his sister, Margaret chronicling his adventures. Many of the letters survive today. This book is a compilation of those letters and representative photos.
