About the Book
Echoes celebrates the life, art and poetry of Michael Glendening on the 25th anniversary of his tragic death. The large format hardback features over 290 pages of photographs, sketches, chalks and oils; including his famed collection 'Trees'. There are over 100 poems taken from five collections; including Autumn Evening and Blackberrying, as well as unpublished rarities. Extracts taken from his manuscripts are published here for the first time such as The Unknown Chemist as well as passages from published works such as Tangier, A Glasgow Diary and Eleven Elements. The texts of his essay Hollow Dream, children's book Word Games and Puzzles For Children Of All Ages and his evolutionary epic poem The Growing Chain are exclusively printed in full. Echoes charts Michael's development as an artist and poet - and the tragedy of a life cut short on the cusp of great success when he died suddenly, aged just thirty seven.
