About the Book
For her debut work, Somewhere To Land, fourteen visual artists collaborated with poet Taylor Sacks to create an explosion of media. Sacks’ poems pose questions about the feminine experience by addressing hardworking spiders, arrogant leaves, mysterious friends, men on the metro, and even Paris, where the poet spent some time writing this book. As if in a house of mirrors, the poet and reader are led through the brutal processes of a girl growing up, internalizing sexualization, and projecting violence onto whatever she desires. Responding to Charles Baudelaire’s "Á une passante" and culminating in a fierce rejection of the internet, Sacks displays her niche in poetics.
