About the Book
Semblance /ˈsembləns/: the outward appearance or apparent form of something, especially when the reality is different.
For this body of work, I wanted to challenge the viewers as I have done myself. I recently had gotten into a rut within my work and decided that the only way out was to do something that scared me within my medium. I created, lit, and composed photos of forms that were made out of paper and tape and I let my imagination fly. I did not create this work to find some deep meaning about the human mind, or subtly speak upon society. The work is meant to be simple and beautiful; with my main goal being that the viewer gets lost on each frame that they view upon. With these challenges I have created for myself I am able to challenge my perspective along with those who are viewing the body of work I have created.
Keep challenging yourself and others and make sure your scare yourself along the way.
