About the Creator
I live within the beautiful North Devon Biosphere in the UK, surrounded by the best of British wildlife. I love walking my local dunes, beaches, coast path, woods and moorland. I also have a wonderful long garden that I enjoy filling with flowers, fruit and veg. I have found studying wildlife and drawing it a brilliant mindful activity that brings me calm and pleasure. I have been teaching in primary schools for twenty years, and have a passion for sharing art and nature activities with all ages. When I was little, my father regularly reminded me that I am the descendent of the famous poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and encouraged me to compose my own poems before I could even spell (I am dyslexic). I loved how my father could recite poetry on the spur of the moment, and we learnt some fun poems by heart together. After my father died of a brain tumour, it was these memories that inspired me to create a poem for my own son, and that led to creating illustrations.
