About the Book
Root 66
Reconquering root-identity on the trail to freedom.
A raw and honest travelogue that takes the reader on a journey through eight States along historic Route 66. It is a story about the road of recovery after betrayal and loss. The stages of despair, anger, senselessness, grief, and apathy, but also of serenity, joy, and newly found responsibility are subjects of philosophical insights and contemplations, recorded on an epic 3000-mile-trip on a little Honda Shadow in late autumn of 2017.
The trip becomes symbolic shadow work, as well as a ride toward reconciliation and new trust.
Coming to terms with personal tragedy is also depicted in the eight big format mixed media paintings that came into being one year after the motorcycle trip.
Masculinity -- widely defamed as toxic in today's society -- must stand tall and become strong again in honesty and integrity. The root of identity is on the Route ahead of us. Ride it like a man.
