Patti lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her husband Greg. They are the proud parents of son Michael, this book’s illustrator, and daughter Sarah, Julian’s mommy.

This story was inspired by the sighting of two goldfish swimming in Minnehaha Creek on opposite sides of the stream.
