In the wake of the murder of a famous actor, Ralph Hood, who played the iconic horror slasher Don Juan, also known on the silver screen as "The Wolf," in the film franchise, The Effigy, a thorough investigation leads detectives, Mather and Ludlow, down a rabbit hole of deception and depravity, which has followed the late actor throughout the span of his controversial career.

As the two detectives get closer to Hood's highly methodical murderer, they'll soon realize that show business has its fair share of dark secrets. For Mather and Ludlow, they'll find themselves questioning whether or not the darkness is real? Or, is it just simply movie magic?
