About the Book
On the brink of an upcoming election for President of the United States, leading frontrunner Governor Avanti Washington prepares for one of her most crucial speeches in front of an audience full of America's most elite, as well as wealthy donors, who are ready—and willing—to fund her bid for President.
Meanwhile, Governor Washington's campaign manager, Sonny Mims, has doubts about his star candidate and believes it would be best to take her speech in a different direction by embracing a much "dirtier" campaign. The idea doesn't sit well with the governor, who's run a clean campaign thus far, and leaves the two at bitter ends.
As pressure mounts and the governor finds herself going "off script," she is haunted by her past and forced to acknowledge the aftermath of her policies that had left many Americans suffering from a broad range of difficulties, all of which stemmed from her actions as the governor of Georgia. As Governor Washington confronts her own skeletons, she has no other choice but to reflect inward and take a hard look at her own self before sacrificing her core values in order to whet Sonny's appetite for controversy. Only then will she be able to decide whether or not she has a sound bite.
