History, science, and reading are blended into the story, which uses a historic personality to engage young readers in exploring this natural environment while improving their inquiry and reading comprehension skills. ClueQ is interactive component utilized in the story’s text, which contains clues to help young readers answer a question about select wildlife subjects. Adults are encouraged to read and look for the clues in the story with their children.

About the Creator

Robert Bullock, author and illustrator, formerly designed interactive educational exhibits, notably at New York City’s American Museum, the Peabody Museum at Yale, and Pennsylvania’s State Museum, all which house renown habitat dioramas, the inspiration for the Wilderness Habitat Discovery Journal series. Bullock later taught ESL to university students and youth at Liaocheng University, Shandong, China, where he was called Mr. Robert. Presently, he continues to write and illustrate Wilderness Habitat Discovery Journals and develop other interactive educational projects for young readers and learners in order to develop language skills and outdoor awareness.
