Inspired by the vision of my vivacious, bombshell blonde grandmother and her battle with chronic pain, these cyanotypes on fabric chronicle the driving need in women to appear perfect and to embrace their sensuality, in a world that is anything but perfect. – objectified and judged by their appearance. These found garments were chosen for their uniqueness in texture, design aesthetic, feminine lace and luxuriousness. Cyanotype offers a direct and authentic capture of the lace detail and connection between fabric and lingerie during the act of being wrapped around a dress form and exposed to the sun. There is also beauty and regality in the blue hue.
