About the Book
The seventy-five acres of Appleton Hills is part of an original 200 acre Orchard Slope Farm, which was started in 1812 and its prime 1920's had 1,800 apple trees. The apples were shipped to Boston, New York, and England. The record cold temperatures in the winters of 1932 and 1933 destroyed all the apple trees. The original farmhouse burned to the ground in 1970. The current residence was constructed September-December 1994.
