About the Book
Hardcover. The sixth in a series of books on the family history of the blended Hedges/Nesse family, this book traces the family history of Mary Alice Melberg, whose ancestors came from Sweden and Germany. The most recent immigrant was Anders Petter Petersson (1846–1929), who arrived from Sweden in 1868 and adopted Melberg as his family name. Earlier immigrants came from Germany and included members of the Meyer, Schwab, and Winterer families, who arrived in the middle years of the nineteenth century. The earliest immigrant, probably from Germany, was a member of the Forrey family, who arrived in the 1700s and settled in Pennsylvania. All of these family lines intersected in Iowa, and from there, went to Oregon and Washington.
