About the Creator
Marc has been impassioned by both photography and poetry for as long as he can remember. He first picked up a camera (a plastic Instamatic) at just 12 years of age and bought his first 35mm SLR camera at 18. Doing so opened an entirely new world, where his developing interest in the Neo Classical and Pre Raphaelite art movements, helped mould his unique style of carefully posed, soft focus portraiture, using low light settings in natural environments. His further discovery as a teenager of the works of the famed Lebanese poet and philosopher Kahlil Gibran, led to a parallel desire to express his life experiences in poetic form and then ultimately to an ambition to combine his photography with his poetry in a publication entirely of his own creation. The result has been his first book titled 'Sanctuary', a homage to love, beauty and human emotion, captured within a series of sensitive images and expressed in the author's own, often raw and painful words about life, love and love lost.
