On 22 March 2021, a shooter massacred 10 people at the King Soopers grocery in Boulder, Colorado. Aftermath is a photo essay about what happens when the killing stops. Roessler made all the photos within a 100-yard radius of the entrance to the King Soopers because 100 yards is the range of the AR-556 weapon the accused killer used. In that circle he found grief and beauty. By taking a sideways but specific view of this atrocity, we can see its full dimensions — slant and new and ready to be faced, felt, and considered carefully. And remembered.
