About the Book
Although I have lived in several places in my lifetime, two of them are particularly “home” to me: Hawai`i and Nova Scotia. Both places are surrounded by ocean, and so I have chosen to focus on seascapes in this portfolio of photographs. Nowadays I am influenced by the indigenous understanding of water. Water is not just a commodity to be used. It is a living entity and, along with land, bears its own gifts to humankind: healing, solace, renewal, mystery, beauty, food, and life itself. In turn, the only gift we humans can give to water is our faithful stewardship of this Earth.
