About the Book
As a people, we Americans have a casual disregard for the land. Perhaps this is because the myth of the limitless frontier; wide open spaces being part of our national identity. What happens to the land in the desert is the same as what happens to the land everywhere; in the desert it’s just easier to see. A burned desert still looks like what most people think of as a desert—a place filled with nothing. My intention with these pictures is to demonstrate otherwise.
