About the Book
For some 20 years, Danita Geltner worked as a sculptor in New York City. Her main theme was the juxtaposition of organic and inorganic on Earth, as Industrialization intruded into Nature. In these two books, part memoir, part sculptural catalog, she details her creations, both those of the sculptures she was making, and the life she was leading. Filled with visual imagery, included are anecdotes concerning issues that arise in the life of a sculptor and the life of a woman, working along the margins of a highly competitive field in a highly competitive city. A unique book, unlike anything one is likely to have seen.
