Writers at Woody Point was launched in 2004. The festival is organized and presented by the Friends of Writers at Woody Point, a not-for-profit organization with a volunteer board, which also owns and operates the historic Woody Point Heritage Theatre. The village of Woody Point is located on the south shore of Bonne Bay, surrounded by the breathtaking landscape of Gros Morne National Park. Writers, artists, scientists, and many other visitors are drawn here from around the world.
