A Beautiful Bloom, Despite the Odds is about the legacy of my father’s gambling addiction on the dynamics of our family when I was growing up. In writing this book, I discovered that gambling is an elusive, insidious and powerful addiction, and that its effect is visible and long-lasting. The writing process also revealed my strengths, and I was able to recognize what my father took from me and what he gave in return.
It is also about wonderful childhood memories and the women who cherished and nurtured me.
Most importantly, it is about my relationship with my husband Howard, the love of my life, and his unconditional love for me that helped me bloom, despite the odds.
