About the Book
This is a study of the family history of Marjorie McKean McKellar. Marjorie was born a Scottish farmer’s daughter in late 1930 Ayrshire. She was one of five children, and the only one to leave Scotland seeking a new life in Canada.
Marjorie was the descendant of farmers, innkeepers, and soldiers. Her ancestral lines include the McKellar, McNicol, Dickie, Malcom, McKean, McGregor, Buchanan, Murdoch, Aitken, Mcdonald, Easdale, Crawford, Carr, Metcalf, Thomson, Daun, Hogarth, Simpson, McIlquham, Spier, Tyre, Main, Brown, Montgomery, Bone, Govan and McKindlay families.
We leave a mark on all those we meet throughout our lives and our family stories are part of our identity. Marjorie’s life was comparatively short however she left her mark on those she left behind. This book is in part a tribute to her.
