About the Book
A book written for all the little ones that have a bit of magic in their ears. My daughter, Cleo, was born with sensorineural hearing loss in her right ear. We had many questions and emotions during its initial discovery - my mama heart ached at the perceived reduction in quality of a life that I had imagined for her. I wrote this book as we found our footing in a wonderful hearing support community. It’s become more clear to me that with natural adaptability and resilience, kids like Cleo will thrive - the major learnings really lay with us as her parents.
I wrote this book about her, in hopes that in breathing this story to life, she and other little ones with Super Ears are instilled with celebration, confidence, and self-acceptance.

About the Creator

I'm a new mama, first-time children's book creator, long-time engineer, and avid explorer based in Canada. I love to try different things, and to pursue causes with meaning. I believe representation and diversity in the mediums that people consume, especially for little ones, make a huge difference in how they perceive the world and in their development of self-acceptance. I wanted to write a story about my daughter, for my daughter, as we navigated a very new and uncertain period of our life learning about her newborn hearing diagnosis. In breathing this story to life, the hope is that she and other little ones with Super Ears are instilled with celebration, confidence, and self-love.
