About the Book
Blending memoir and journalism, this project began as a documentation of a MotherBlessing/ Blessingway evening but evolved into a profound exploration, incorporating letters from women, connecting with midwives across generations, and delving into the Blessingway ceremony's lineage. The 152 pages include the ceremony, the author's context and reflections, wisdom letters, stories of pregnancy and birth, and a poignant letter from a midwife weaving personal and historical narratives. A unique hybrid project, it offers a glimpse into the tapestry of womanhood, birth, and generational transformation.

ASPEN HEISEY
Guelph, ON Canada
Aspen Heisey is a life-long journaler, a wife, mother, grandmother, founding partner of Floworks Inc, a Life Cycle Celebrant, a practical mystic, and a women’s circle wrangler—all threads of which are woven into her first book: Mother Blessing: A Baby Shower for the Soul. Currently, Aspen is a student at Haden Institute for Spiritual Direction. One of her most treasured moments happened as she was casually strolling with her accordion towards a rendezvous in a park near her home in Guelph Ontario - and a fellow walker insisted she take several dollars for her “wonderful busking."
