About the Book
Portuguese calçadas, or pavements, have become part of Portugal's identity and culture. They adorn many of the outdoor spaces throughout Lagos adding a unique charm and character. I love walking around Lagos and seeing how life takes place with those calçadas as a backdrop.
Included are 50 different images of the calçadas printed on high quality lustre paper with locations of each one of them. There is also a brief history of them and a tribute to the 'calceteiros' who construct them.
Come take a photo tour with me through the streets of Lagos and watch life unfold amidst these beautiful works of art.

Lagos, Portugal
I am originally from NYC. where i learned photography from my father in our basement darkroom doing B&W. My photographic interests turned to color photography with subjects including NYC graffiti, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, urban cityscapes, and the changing seasons. Travel led me to photograph many islands of the Caribbean. After living in Costa Rica for 8 years I now reside in Lagos, Portugal.
