About the Book
Set in Queensland, Australia, at the turn of the century, a family of opera singers are in pursuit of theatrical greatness. The youngest, Madoline, has epilepsy and disappears after members of the family sail to England to sing. Edith, sails home alone to find her sister. Though married, Edith, falls in love during the voyage.
