Within a few years either side of 1840, Denis O'Callaghan and Sabina McNamara emigrated from Ireland and wound up in Charleston, South Carolina. Denis came from County Cork and Sabina from County Galway. Denis pursued the trade of stonemason in Charleston and in several Georgia cities. The great mystery of the census of 1850 is unraveled, and brief biographies of their children are included.
