Hardcover book containing postal cover illustrations from the USS Constitution 1931 – 1934 East/West Cruise. This edition is 240 pages of cover and other info images and info from the cruise. There are about 600 covers and cachets pictured, most in full color, more than 75 illustrations of other items of interest to the cruise, and many pages of info of the cruise. Covered subject matter is from July 1, 1931 until June 8, 1934, from each port visited with cachet respective sponsors. Information (where available) is number of covers produced, types of known covers in each port, larger images, checklist of dates of cancel for each port, and sampling of autographs available on the covers, full crew list, and other items. Resident of Southeastern Massachusetts. After a few years working as computer support contractor for FAA in Seattle, returned to Southeastern Ma., and formally retired. Have been collecting all things to do with the USS Constitution, both directly from, or related to the ship for a number of years. Am currently a member of the USS Constitution Museum. Books written are based mostly on what is in personal collection.
