About the Book
Riding Shotgun: A photo essay of sorts (not! more of a reflection, really), contemplating time, space, memory, art, and death, conceived while sitting in the passenger seat of a car traveling down American highways at a high rate of speed…is a series of spontaneous, contemporary American landscapes I made out of a car window while traveling down the Interstate at a high rate of speed.
These are fleeting images, capturing the briefest of moments, like when you catch the eye of a stranger in the subway while you race for your train. There is a moment. For the briefest amount of time there is something real. You engage. Then it's over. I'd like to stay. But I must go.
