The book offers a relatively brief, yet relatively complete account of the Frigate Constitution's actions from construction, through 3 wars, several battles, until the end of hostilities of the War of 1812 in 1815. Included is a discussion of the USS Constitution involvement in the First Barbary War, the battle with HMS Guerriere, battle with HMS Java and battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Resident of Southeastern Massachusetts. After a few years working as computer support contractor for FAA in Seattle, returned to Southeastern Ma., and formally retired. Have been collecting all things to do with the USS Constitution, both directly from, or related to the ship for a number of years. Am currently a member of the USS Constitution Museum. Books written are based mostly on what is in personal collection.
