About the Book
No Offense Meant is a book of fifty ink paintings by artist Colin Rhodes, first exhibited in China in 2023. It showcases the results of his practice-led research exploring the commonalities between Eastern and Western art and culture, spanning a period of nearly a decade. The work stems from Rhodes’ observations of Chinese ink-painting language, based on his understanding of both Eastern and Western art. It goes beyond the deconstruction and recombination of form and materials, reflecting the interconnectedness of his perspective within the context of Eastern and Western art.
