About the Creator
Felipe Behrens began a passion for sea kayaking for a rather mundane reason. It was a way to avoid the traffic when he would go visit his mother in Miami Beach on the weekends. “If you have to sit around for a few hours, better it be on a kayak paddling under the causeways, than in the bumper to bumper traffic on top of them.” His exploits, combined with a childhood propensity to find himself in unexpected adventures, have taken him on multi month journeys to circumnavigate the Florida Peninsula, Puerto Rico, and Vancouver Island in British Columbia. When not out on his kayak circling the islands in Biscayne Bay, practicing rolls, or trying to catch some waves, he works as a wastewater treatment engineer in Miami Florida, and writes about his travels.
