About the Book
Each spread of this charming alphabet book has a poem on the left page and an appealing wildlife photograph representing the letter on the right page. For example, "L is for Lion" has a photograph of a lioness with three cubs and a corresponding poem: ""This lion mommy has three cubs. They keep her very busy. They run around her all day long, until she gets quite dizzy." Many poem pages also include a question the reader can ask the child: "Do you want someone to lick you like the lion mommy licks her baby?"

During my high school years, I had my own dark room and enjoyed exploring film photography. Then life intervened. After college, graduate school and a 40-year academic career, I have returned, though I have left film for digital photography. It gives me joy.
