About the Creator
Since he settled in Australia 22 years ago, Andi Islinger has successfully combined land rehabilitation, independent publishing and freelance photography. He has established an international reputation in those fields and his photographic work has appeared in hundreds of publications around the world. Originally from Bavaria, Andi’s commitment to earth repair began at 14 in protests against ‘globalisation’ (dams and a nuclear waste dump) in the area where his family had lived for centuries. Disillusioned by the deteriorating situation in Germany, he spent the next years travelling the world in search of a place to settle. After travelling countless countries in five continents, he arrived in Australia and did a Permaculture course with Jude and Michael Fanton (Seedsavers -Byron Bay) and bought a share in the Moondani community at Nimbin.
