About the Book
Some children ask the hard and complicated religious and spiritual questions at an age when most kids have other things on their mind. How do we know if something is true? Did God make us or did we evolve? If God is good, why do bad things happen? Why doesn’t God answer my prayers? How about other faiths? How do we know what the Bible says is right? What happened to Jesus? Did someone just make up the story about Jesus? This book is an attempt to deal with such questions in a way that is understandable for ages nine to twelve, while being consistent with issues they will encounter later and at a more sophisticated level. Father Larry’s theological orientation is a sort of progressive orthodoxy, so that while this book takes seriously and embraces the best of modern scholarship it integrates contemporary scholarship with, and is true to, classic Christian faith.
