About the Book
This book contains some of the watercolor sketches from my small five by seven inch wire bound sketch book, which I always keep nearby when traveling.
All of the sketches from the trip west were painted, after dinner, at my evenings campsite from memory. There was usually one roadside image, vivid enough to put down on paper, even though it was by then many miles behind.
The east coast trip was a more leisurely affair. I allowed myself more time, so those are all plein air sketches.
The captions and descriptive notes for the sketches, evolved into verse, as I worked to make them shorter and more succinct.
Is less, more?
