About the Book
Before Barack Obama was elected, the village of Arroyo Seco (just north of Taos) in New Mexico was celebrating independence with a unique 4th of July Parade. But in 2008, everyone "upped the ante" and the parade included more political floats, in the hope that Obama would be elected.
In 2009 I reissued this book to celebrate Obama's presidency and the regime change we all hoped was underway.
This is a reissue of the 2009 edition with a twist: a postscript added in 2010 that questions just how far we've actually come.
This book is a "gem" just like Arroyo Seco. And because of its focus on Obama (in the floats and the shining faces), it's a moment you won't soon forget.
