About the Book
This book is an experience in time and color, as well as a description of culture, resulting from driving along the road from Mbarara to Kampala, Uganda. The photographs celebrate African and equatorial color, the richness of the social life of the road. On Sundays in Uganda, it is customary to wear the best clothes you own, and pay visits and spend time with friends and relatives. The road is not just a means of getting from one place to another in a car, but a pageant of walkers, workers, riders. The borderless sequence of images communicates a stream of both color and humanity.
