About the Book
This is a book about my mother's life from a son's perspective. An ordinary life for sure but special because she lived it so well. She wasn't famous nor did she distinguish herself in the arts or humanities. She wanted to be a blues singer but only sang around the house and in my ear when I was a child. She had an eye for photographic composition in her pictures of us kids. She "kept a clean house", raised two exceptional children and married twice while holding down a full time job. She honored her parents, her friends and her family. She enjoyed a good joke and a beer every once in a while. Could cook and bake anything. She was a mystery to some of us. To others we just knew we were OK with her. Her positive influence on me was greater than she ever thought and greater than I could ever expect.
