A note on the summer 2010 course - Documentary Photography: Rome
This intensive class introduced ten students to the basic and advanced techniques of image production with a major emphasis on generating projects directly relating to the people, architecture, and culture of Italy. The cosmopolitan city of Rome, rich with artistic history, served as the source for our photographic explorations. Our studies and production took us from exhibitions in progressive art galleries, to the ancient architecture of the Colosseum. The working method used to approach the subject of Rome was simple: cameras in hand, walking 12 hours a day fueled on espresso, and ignoring the 100 degree heat.
