A writer/playwright, Crystal Smothers (Queen Nef) produced stage plays for Chicago community after school programs and organizations for over 15 years. A single parent, this writer has worked as a paraprofessional in corporate America for over 10 years and thereafter became Editor for two community newspapers in Chicago. She then picked up the baton left by her mentor, Sam Henderson II and became Publisher of her own newspaper.
