About the Book
Realities gallery in Melbourne, opening in 1971 in Ross Street, Toorak, and moving to Jackson Street, Toorak, in 1976, became a magnet for anyone who was part of the cultural life of Australia - artists, curators, writers, film directors, actors, musicians, politicians, collectors and more. All were welcomed, as the exhibitions were lauded, the openings were crowded, the lunches in the garden lasted all day, and the champagne flowed. Every day was an adventure. Marianne Baillieu was the founder and director from 1971 until 1980. Evi Robinson and Rhonda Senbergs joined Marianne in 1976, Evi with her administrative skills, and Rhonda with her ever present camera. This is Rhonda Senberg’s photographic record of those latter days from 1976 to 1980 when Marianne sold the gallery and moved on to her studio to devote herself to creating her own art.
