About the Book
This book is a complete record of a journey I took from my home in Trellick Tower, West London, to Tokyo. I didn't fly any leg of the journey and through a series of mostly trains and ferries, travelled across northern Europe, Russia, through Mongolia and China before taking a ship from Tianjin to Kobe and a Shinkansen to Tokyo.
The trip was inspired by the challenge of getting to Tokyo in a defined period of time, a love of train and boat travel and the desire to see how countries evolved and progressed as you travelled through, rather than over them.
Whilst the images are varied in content, style and aesthetic value, they are a complete collection of what I saw and captured and represent a significant and very personal journey.
